Snorkeling Is a Fun Activity to Engage In, but There Are Things That You Shouldn’t Do While Out on the Water.

In the bright blue and clear waters of Cabo, you’ll likely have one of the most amazing experiences, especially if you’re snorkeling. This can be a relaxing and enchanting activity as you explore a new world that is full of creatures and colors. While the activity is all about having fun and relaxing, there are things you should and shouldn’t do. Here are some things you shouldn’t do:

Don’t Touch Anything

This is one of the most important rules while snorkeling. It’s crucial not to touch anything since it could be deadly. There are numerous things in the water that can be dangerous or poisonous. To be safe, it’s best to stay away from everything. It’s also important to keep an eye out for whatever it is that you’re swimming into while also being aware of your surroundings. Keep in mind not to touch the coral. While it will certainly look beautiful, it is also very fragile. If you touch it with either your hands or fins, you’ll likely kill it. It’s also possible for coral to cut your skin, which can lead to infection, due to it being quite sharp.

Use the Buddy System

Don’t go into the ocean alone. The buddy system is crucial when in the water because it can save your life and also prevent serious injuries from happening. Whether it’s a friend or another more experienced snorkeler with you, you’ll be at ease knowing that you’re staying safe and also sharing your experience.

Don’t Feed the Fish

You’ll likely be able to buy fish food at snorkel rental shops and stores, but you shouldn’t use it to feed the fish. Feeding the fish in the ocean can mess up the natural ecosystem that they’re in. Be sure to also be considerate of the sealife by not harassing it. Don’t get too close to the creatures.

Don’t Walk, Swim

Be sure to pay attention to the fins you’re wearing when snorkeling. You might feel the urge to stand or walk on coral, but you shouldn’t. A snorkeler that doesn’t keep this in mind can damage a great amount of underwater life. If you get tired and have to stand, be sure to check where you’re placing your feet before doing so.
